Some love for the blackfish

Keet. Skana. Kosatka. Blackfish. Sea wolf. Orcinus orca. Killer whale. Orca. Throughout history this animal has been considered one of the most beloved and feared animals of the sea. They are the most well known among a group of cetaceans collectively called "blackfish." Other members include Melon-headed whales, pygmy killer whales, false killer whales, short-finned pilot whales, and long-finned pilot whales. This is a blog made to share news, facts, images, art, etc. about members of the blackfish family. It is made and run by winterwidow (you can call me Emily), a university student dedicated to wildlife conservation. I am personally against keeping them in captivity, but you may see posts with pictures/facts of the ones in captivity. I usually do this because I like the individual animals. Do not let my opinion deter you from following me, though! I am very respectful of people's opinions.
